PLEASE SUPPORT THE BLUE RAIDER ATHLETIC BOOSTER CLUB
Please make every effort to support the Blue Raider Athletic Booster Club. The sole purpose of the Booster Club is to promote and support the athletic programs at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School. All funds raised by the Booster Club are returned to the athletic programs at the high school in one way or another.
At the end of every season, an awards presentation ceremony is held in the new gymnasium. At this ceremony, varsity awards are presented. Among these awards are varsity letters, certificates, pins, plaques, and MVP and captain's awards. In addition, certificates are awarded to members of sub-varsity teams. These awards are paid for in full by the Booster Club. Every spring, a senior sports awards banquet is held. This is also financed by the Booster Club. Athletes lettering in all three seasons receive "Iron Raider" long-sleeved t-shirts. Those participating in three sports, but not lettering in all three receive "Tri-Athlete" long- sleeved t-shirts. This all costs money, and it must come from somewhere.
The Booster Club also sponsors four scholarships, awarded each and every year to two male and two female seniors, and manages an additional four scholarships.
Every year, coaches can submit "wish list" requests for items not covered by the athletic department's budget. The amount of funding returned to the athletic teams at the high school is directly proportional to the amount of money raised by the Booster Club.
