- Kathleen Leeper, competing as an individual in the girls' race, placed 15th and
earned a wild card qualifying spot into next Saturday's Meet of Champions. Her time of 20:04, a 47-second course PR, moves her to #2 on the All-Koegel List for Holmdel Park and establishes a new SPFHS junior class record. This was the best-ever placing by an SPFHS girl at the NJSIAA Group III Championship and Leeper is the first SPFHS girl to qualify for the Meet of Champions.
- The boys' team place of 8th was our best finish since 2002, when we placed
5th. This was a huge improvement for a team that had only placed 5th last week in the sectional championship and was picked to finish 19th out of 20.
- The boys' Top 5 average time of 17:49.0 was our 7th-fastest since the start of
the 1997 season.
- Alex Parker led the charge for the boys' team, placing 15th in 17:04. This was
a course PR by 85 seconds and moves him to #5 on the All-Koegel List for Holmdel Park. Parker's chances of a wild card qualifying spot were dashed by the fact that Group IV got to race in much better conditions well before the rains started.
- Vid Malik's time of 17:40 was a 42-second course PR.
- Brandon Wheeler ran a 23-second course PR, finishing in 17:42.
- Also running course PR's were Kyle Mahoney (18:17) and Bobby Evans (18:22).
